1.) If you face an enemy in really good armor, then, if your server has McMMO, you can use an axe to do a ton of damage to their armor, like a sledge hammer. The more you use axes, the more damage they will do to your enemies.
2.) If you make a simple trap, it will often pay off. Make it close to spawn, but not too close, otherwise people will be able to find it again after it kills them. The best simple traps use trapped chests and pistons. You can look for tutorials of traps on YouTube.
3.) Find a dungeon! If you turn it into an XP grinder, you can reap tons of experience points. Again, there are tutorials for how to make XP grinder on YouTube.
4.) Not really a PvP tip, but, if you get a skeleton to kill a creeper with an arrow, the creeper will drop a music disk. You can play these disks in jukeboxes, which you craft like a chest, with a diamond in the middle.
5.) To get good enchants, sometimes it is useful to use an enchanting table with no bookshelves. If you enchant books with level 1 enchants, the most common enchants you will get are sharpness and protection. Then, if you combine these books in an anvil, you will can get some really good sharpness and protection books.
